April 16th, 2011

September 2010:
I meet Zachary Alex Bloomfield for the first time.
We occasionally hang out.
We go on a few dates.

October 2010-January 2011:
Rare to nonexistent contact with each other.

January 2011:
Start talking again.
Go on weekend trip to Cannonville, UT together.
Hang out daily.

February 10, 2011:
We officially start dating.

-everything is going swell-
-we fall in love-
-we talk of marriage-
-we talk of our dreams & plans-

April 2011:
We plan to drive up to Washington together, where I will live for the summer.
He buys an engagement ring.
He claims he won't propose to me until the end of the summer.

We go on adventures daily around the city.
We buy sappy love poetry books and read them together.
We do cheesy and sweet love things all the time.

We plan to have a cheesy double date with my friends in Washington.
Like really cheesy and cute.
Rose petals, candles, poetry; sappy, adorable romance.

April 16, 2011:
We spend the day adventuring at the beach.
We get all dolled up for our romantic double date.
Zach is very quiet on the way there.

Our date is wonderful.
My friend breaks out the video camera saying, "We have to record our boyfriends reading poetry to us, because it's doubtful it'll ever happen again!"
She says Zach has to start, because it's his poetry book.

He nervously opens the book and begins reading:
I think this is absolutely adorable, and am in love with his creativity.
{"she wore his heart around her neck" is in reference to the ruby heart necklace Zach bought me saying I have stolen his heart. That whole event is a great story, involving sleep talking, ridiculous trips, and sweet selflessness.}
Yet I still suspect nothing.
He then flips the page, hands me the book, and asks me to read:
As I read the last phrase, he kneels down and then repeats the question.
My eyes fill with tears and I mumble a quiet 'yes'.
I am thrilled, but don't quite believe he is actually proposing.
He tells me to turn the page:
I am now in some serious danger of crying.
My shock turns into excitement, which turns into an overwhelming rush of love for my new fiance.
I bury my face in his hug to hide my happy tears.
We grow closer every day.
We fall more in love every day.
We have trials and realize our own shortcomings. But our gratitude & love for each other always shines through, making our relationship as husband and wife stronger.

It has only been a year since we agreed to spend our lives together.
And we have eternity left to cherish & nurture our love.

We will be sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City, LDS Temple on our one year marriage anniversary of August 24th, 2012.
And we could not be happier :)

Here's a link to my blog post with the actual video of our engagement, if you'd like :)
